    Determination of Thermal Decomposition Products of Glucose by Thermal Analysis Combined with FTIR and GC-MS

    • A combination of thermal analysis, FTIR and GC-MS was applied to the determination of thermal decomposition products of glucose. Under conditions of simultaneous thermal analysis, the glucose sample was pyrolyzed in atmosphere of nitrogen and nitrogen oxygen gas mixture, and determined by infrared scanning. GC-MS temperature was choosed with thermogravimetric curves and infrared spectra. Products of pyrolysis were separated and identified by GC-MS. The experimental results showed that, 44 compounds were detected in the thermal decomposition products of glucose at temperature of 220 ℃, 300 ℃, 350 ℃ and 470 ℃;76 compounds were detected in pyrolysis products of glucose at high temperature. The analytical results were valuable for the application of glucose at different temperatures.
