LC-MS Determination of Sodium Cyclamate in Foodstuffs

Sample of foodstuff was mixed with water and treated ultrasonically to extract sodium cyclamate into aqueous solution and then it was purified on an anion exchange solid-phase extraction (SPE) column. Eluate of HOAc(1+4) was used for HPLC-MS determination. Linear relationship between peak area and concentration of cyclamate was obtained in the range of 0.01-50.0 mg·L-1 (r=0.999 8) with a detection limit (S/N=3∶1) of 20 pg. Values of recovery found by standard addition method were in the range of 94.1%-99.1%.
