HPLC Determination of a Pesticide Intermediate-2-Chlorobenzothiazole

A pesticide intermediate,namely 2-chlorobenzothiazole (CBT) as well as its raw material 2-sulfhydrylbenzothiazole (SBT),was determined by HPLC.It was shown that linear relationships between the peak area and concentration of the above mentioned compounds were obtained in the range of 10.0-50.0 mg·L-1.Detection limits were found to be 0.005 mg·L-1 for CBT and 0.01 mg·L-1 for SBT.Tests for precision and recovery were also made,values of RSD (n=6) found were 0.67% (for CBT) and 1.29% (for SBT),and values of recovery were found in the ranges of 88.0%-106.0% (for CBT),and 88.9%-104.0% (for SBT).
