Determination of Diltiazem Hydrochloride with Polyvinyl Chloride Membrane Diltiazem Hydrochloride Ion Selective Electrode

A polyvinyl chloride membrane/diltiazem hydrochloride ion selective electrode based on the complex of iodomercurate with diltiazem hydrochloride as electroactive material,was prepared and its electrochemical properties tested.Good response of this ion selective electrode against diltiazem hydrochloride was observed giving linearity range of diltiazem hydrochloride from 4.5×10-2 to 1.0×10-4mol·L-1,with detection limit of 3.55×10-5mol·L-1.The ion selective electrode was used in the analysis of diltiazem hydrochloride tablet,and results obtained were found to be checked quite well with those obtained by the pharmacopeia method.
