FAAS Determination of Lead in Barite with Microwave Assisted Sample Digestion

A method based on microwave assisted acid dissolution and FAAS determination of lead in barite was proposed in this paper.Experimental results showed that only 8 min were needed for the dissolution of 0.5 g barite sample using 3 mL of aqua regia,while about 3 h were needed in the preparation of sample solution by acid digestion either under pressure or not in the conventional methods.Higher extraction rate and precision were obtained by this method.Values of recovery and RSD′s (n=6) found by this method were in the ranges of 95%-103% and 1.8%-5.7% respectively.
