Abstract
Micro-fluidic splittering technique was combined with GC-MS and used in qualitative and quantitative inspection of naphthalene in heavy aromatics.Samples of heavy aromatics were diluted with toluene for preparing sample solutions.FID was used in the determination.Linear relationship between values of peak area and concentration of naphthalene was obtained in the range within 0.200 g per 100 mL of the toluene solution.Precision of the method was tested by analyzing a same sample for 5 determinations, value of RSD found was 0.45%.Test for recovery was made by standard addition method, giving value of recovery in the range of 92.8%-100.2%.
