    ICP-MS Determination of Trace Metal Elements in Methylbenzene

    • Sample of methylbenzene was diluted with mixed solution of HNO3-ethanol-water (0.04+1+1) and dispersed ultrasonically. The contents of the metal elements (i.e., Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Zn, Ag, Cd and Pb) in sample solution were determined by ICP-MS with Re as internal standard. Values of detection limit (3s) of the method were found in the range of 0.012 7-0.690 ng·L-1. The proposed method was applied to the determination of metal elements in sample of methylbenzene, giving values of recovery obtained by standard addition method, in the range of 71.9%-119% with values of RSD′s (n=6) ≤8%.
