Determination of Total Flavonoids in “Geng-nian-le” Tablets

Favonoids in sample of “Geng-nian-le” tablets were extracted by refluxing with C2H5OH+H2O (70+30),and determined by UV-spectrophotometry,using epimedoside as reference standard. Linear relationship was obtained between the absorbance and concentration of flavonoids (expressed in terms of epimedoside) in the range of 2.19-25.92 mg·L-1. Recovery and precision of the method were tested,giving values of average recovery obtained at different concentration levels of 98.6% and value of RSD′s (n=5) of 0.53%.
