    Voltammetric Determination of Camptothecin by Its Reaction with β-Cyclodextrin

    • In an alkaline solution of 0.05 mol·L-1 NaOH,the interaction between camptothecin (CPT),an anticancer drug,and β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) was studied by linear scanning voltammetry and UV-absorptiophotometry.It was found that an inclusion complex was formed between the reactants,leading to a decrease of the adsorptive peak current of β-cyclodextrin,and giving a linear relationship between the values of 1st derivative of the peak current (I′p) and the concentration of CPT,in the range of 3.0×10-7-7.0×10-6mol·L-1,with a detection limit of 1×10-7mol·L-1.
