    FAAS Determination of Trace Amounts of Zinc in Water Samples with Cloud Point Extraction

    • Trace amount of Zn(Ⅱ) was separated and enriched from the sample solution buffered at pH 7.0 with phosphate buffer in the form of a coordination complex with PAN by cloud point extraction using OP-8 as non-ionic surfactant.An aliquot of the surfactant phase was taken and dissolved in HCl solution and its zinc content was determinaed by FAAS.Factors influential to cloud point extraction,and interferences of co-existing ions were studied and optimized.Detection limit (3σ) of the method was found to be 2.4 μg·L-1.The proposed method was applied to the determination of zinc in water samples,and values of recovery obtained by standard addition method were in the range of 95.0%-103.6%.
