    Study on Molecular Structure of Stearic Acid and Mechanism of Its Phase Transform by Temperature-Control FTIRS

    • FTIR was applied to the research on effect of temperature on molecular structure of stearic acid. FTIR, second derivative FTIR and deconvolution FTIR spectra of C=O of stearic acid in the temperature range of 293-393 K was obtained by temperature-control IRS technology. It was found that there were 4 molecular structures including trans-dimer 1, cis-dimer 2, open loop-dimer 3 and monomer 4 in stearic acid.
