Determination of Iron in Photovoltaic Glass by Energy Dispersion X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry

    • Energy dispersion X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (EDXRFS) was applied to the determination of iron in photovoltaic glass. The optimized conditions were as follows: ① Pd Medium optical filter; ② excitation voltage: 20 kV; ③ excitation current: 1.08 mA; ④ effective detection time: 100 s; ⑤ total detection time: 200 s. Six samples of photovoltaic glass with their iron contents determined by FAAS were selected for checking the results obtained by EDXRFS. Linearity range of the method was kept between 99.0-158 mg·kg-1, with detection limit (3s) of 11.5 mg·kg-1. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of photovoltaic glass, giving results in consistency with those obtained by FAAS. Values of RSD′s (n=11) found were in the range of 4.5%-9.0%.
