    Simultaneous IC Determination of F-, Cl-, Br-, NO3- and SO42- in Brine

    • Contents of 5 anions, including F-, Cl-, Br-, NO3- and SO42-, in brine were determined by ion chromatography (IC). Ion Pac AG18 (protective column) and Ion Pac AS18 (separation column) were used for separation and 33 mmol·L-1 NaOH solution was used as eluant. Inhibitory conductivity detection was adopted in the determination. Linearity for F- and Br- was found in the range of 0.50-20.0 mg·L-1, linearity for Cl- and SO42- was found in the range of 5.00-200 mg·L-1, and linearity for NO3- was found in the range of 2.50-100 mg·L-1, with detection limits (3S/N) in the range of 0.01-0.02 mg·L-1. Two brine samples were selected as matrixes, and test for recovery was made by addition of standard solutions of the 5 anions to the samples, values of recovery found were in the range of 97.4%-108%.
