    ICP-AES Determination of Boron in Rice Flour with Microwave Assisted Sample Digestion

    • ICP-AES was applied to the determination of boron in rice flour. The sample was digested in a microwave digestor with mixed solution of HNO3-H2O2(4+1). Wavelength of 249.7 nm was selected as analytical spectral emission for determination of B in the sample solution. Linear relationship between values of spectral emission intensity and mass concentration of B was obtained in the range of 1.0-100.0 mg·L-1, with detection limit (3s) of 0.018 mg·L-1. Test for precision was performed by analyzing a same sample for 10 determinations, the values of RSD found was 0.76%. Standard samples of rice (GBW 10010),tea (GBW 10016) and apple (GBW 10019) were analyzed by the proposed method, the results obtained were in consistency with their standard values.
