Abstract
Matrix interferences of the easily ionized elements, e.g. K and Na, with the ICP-AES determination of 7 elements (i.e., Al, Cu, Mg, Ca, Fe, Mn and Zn), were studied. Nine spectral lines of the 7 elements were taken as objectives in the study. It was found that the significant interferences due to the easily ionized elements (taking K and Na as example) were effectively inhibited by increasing the radio frequency transmitting power and lowering the atomizing gas pressure.
