Abstract
In an acetate buffer of pH 4.0,a water insoluble ternary association complex was formed among Ru(Ⅲ) crystal violet(CV) and ammonium thiocyanate in the presence of definite amount of sodium chloride, and the precipitate was floated above the aqueous phase giving a clear interface between liquid and solid phases.Quantitative floation of Ru(Ⅲ) was achieved when the concentration of NaCl,NH4SCN and crystal violet attained to the following values respectively: 50 g·L-1,0.04 mol·L-1 and 2.5×10-4mol·L-1.Ruthenium(Ⅲ) was separated satisfactorily from Rh(Ⅲ),Mn(Ⅱ),Al(Ⅲ),Ni(Ⅱ),Cr(Ⅲ),Cd(Ⅱ),V(Ⅴ) and Fe(Ⅱ),by this method,as the later elements were not floated by the reaction system mentioned above. The proposed method has been applied to the analysis of water and pure nickel.
