    HPLC DETERMINATION OF BENZALDEHYDE IN DRINKS

    • RP-HPLC was applied to the determination of benzaldehyde in drinks.Linearity was kept between the peak area of the chromatogram of benzaldehyde and its concentration in the range of 1.0-100.0 mg·kg-1 (r=0.999 8),with a detection limit of 0.1 mg·kg-1.Tests for precision and recovery were carried at 3 concentration levels,i.e.10.0,50.0 and 100.0 mg·kg-1,values of RSD′s (n=6) obtained were in the range of 2.0%-3.4%,and values of recoveries were in the range from 99.3%-102.6%.
