Abstract
Acetic acid in samples of ambient air or waste gas was enriched by adsorption with silica gel tube and desorbed with acetone, which was used for GC analysis. The capillary column,DM-FFAP (30 m×0.25 mm,0.25 μm) was selected as the chromatographic column to eliminate interferences from impurities in acetone. Detection limit (3S/N) of 0.02 mg·m-3 was obtained as calculated on the base of sampling volume of 30 L. Test for recovery was made by adding standard solutions of acetic acid to the adsorption tubes at 3 different concentration levels, values of recovery found were in the range from 88.0% to 105.7%,with values of RSD′s (n=7) less than 8%.
