    Analysis of Medium and Low Alloy Steels by XRF Spectrometry

    • Eighteen elements (including Al,Si,P,Ti,Cr,Mn,V,Co,Ni,Cu,W,Bi,Nb,Mo,Sn,Pb,As and Sb) in medium and low alloy steels were determined by XRFS.Interferences due to absorption enhancement and spectral overlapping between the elements were corrected by the methods of experiential coefficients and theoratical α coefficient.Precision of calibration curve for determination of lead was improved by using Lβ as analytical spectral line.Detection limit (3s) was found in the range from 1.5 to 37.6 μg·L-1.Accuracy of the proposed method was verified by analyzing 4 standard or known samples,and the results obtained were checked quite well with the standard or known values.Precision of the method was tesked by analyzing a known sample for 10 separated determinations,values of RSD′s found for the 18 elements were found less than 6%.
