GC-MS Analysis of Volatile Components of Sesame Essence with Head-Space Solid Phase Micro-extraction

    • Volatile components in sesame essence were separated and identified by headspace solid phase micro-extraction (HS-SPME) and GC-MS, and their relative contents (in %) were found by the method of normalization. To attain a higher efficiency in HS-SPME, 50/30 μm DVB-CAR-PDMS fiber as coating was selected for micro-extractor and the extraction was carried out at 60 ℃ for 1 h. Thirty-one compounds in sesame essence 1# and 28 compounds in sesame essence 2# were identified among which main compounds were pyrazine, furan, pyridine, ketones and phenols. The major compounds found in sesame essence 1# were as follows: 1,6-dihydro-imidazo[4,5-d] imidazole, methyl-pyrazine, 3,5-dimethyl-phenol, furfural, 2,6-dimethyl-4-pyridinamine and 5-methyl-2-furancarboxaldehyde; the major compounds found in sesame essence 2# were as follows: 2,3-dimethyl-pyrazine, 2-furfurylthiol, 4-pyridinamine, 3,5-dimethyl-phenol, acetylpyrazine and furfural, respectively.
