    Capillary Column-GC Determination of Chlorobenzenes in Water

    • Capillary column-GC was applied to the determination of 11 chlorobenzenes in water. The sample was extracted with petroleum ether, and the extract were separated on AC-20 capillary column and detected by ECD. Linear relationships between values of peak height and mass concentration of 11 chlorobenzenes were obtained in definite ranges, with detection limits (3S/N) in the range of 0.005-0.038 μg·L-1. The proposed method was used in the determination of chlorobenzenes in drinking water and source water, giving values of recovery obtained by standard addition method in the range of 85.2%-101.0%, and RSD′s (n=8) in the range of 3.4%-5.2%.
