Abstract
In the presence of polyethylene glycol,a pinkish red complex was formed between Ga(Ⅲ) and butyrhodamine B in HCl medium, and extracted with butyl acetate.Absorbance of the complex was measured in the organic phase at its maximum absorption wavelength of 558 nm.Molar absorptivity found under this condition was 2.79×105L·mol-1·cm-1.Lambert-Beer′s law was kept in the range of 0.018-0.52 mg·L-1 of Ga(Ⅲ).Test for recovery was made, giving values of recovery in the range of 93.0%-98.2%.Detection limit (3S/N) found for the method was 0.018 mg·L-1.
