Abstract
In dilute H2SO4 medium cH2SO4 0.04-0.06 mol·L-1 and in the presence of OP,o-chlorophenylfluorone (o-Cl-PF) reacts with Ti(Ⅳ) to form a reddish violet complex with its absorption maxima at 540 nm and its value of apparent molar absorptivity of 1.66×105L·mol-1·cm-1.Beer′s law is obeyed in the range of 0-3 μg per 25 mL of the test solution.Interferences of Fe(Ⅲ) and Mo(Ⅵ) was eliminated by heating with hydroxylamine hydrochloride in boiling water for 15 min.The proposed method has been used in determination of titanium in a known sample of bearing steel (G20Cr2NiMo,wTi=0.004 0%),giving results in conformity with the known value with RSD′s (n=6) of 6.1%.
