    HG-AFS Determination of Trace Amounts of Lead in Natural Water and Cosmetics

    • HG-AFS was applied to the determination of lead in natural water and cosmetics.Potassium ferricyanide should be treated with acid-washed active carbon in its solution preparation to remove impurities (including lead) present in the reagent.Optimum conditions for the determination were studied.When the acidity of the sample solution was taken as 0.25 mol·L-1 in HNO3 and the concentration of KBH4 taken was 30 g·L-1,linear relationship between the fluoroscence intensity and concentration of lead was kept in the range up to 1 000 μg·L-1,with a detection limit of 0.62 μg·L-1 and values of RSD′s (n=8) in the range of 1.25%-1.29%.Test for recovery was made and the results obtained were in the range from 90.4%-104.4%.
