    COLD-VAPOUR-AAS DETERMINATION OF MERCURY IN COSMETICS

    • Cold-vapour-atomic absorption spectrometry was applied to the determination of mercury in cosmetics.Under the optimum conditions of the determination,the detection limit was found to be 0.1 μg·kg-1 and the limit of determination to be 0.40 mg·kg-1.Precision test was made at the concentration level of 4.0 μg·L-1 of Hg and the value of RSD found was 0.6%.Test for recovery was made by the standard addition method,giving results in the range of 92%-97%.
