    Vapor Generation-AAS Determination of Trace Amounts of Palladium in Catalysts

    • A method for the determination of palladium by vapor generation-AAS (VG-AAS)was proposed.The enhancement of generating efficiency of the volatile species of palladium by the addition of DDTC and its reaction mechanism were discussed.Under the optimum experimental conditions,linear relationship between values of absorbance and mass concentration of palladium obtained was in the range of 0.05-0.80 mg·L-1,with detection limits (3s/k) of 1.8 μg·L-1.The proposed method was applied to the determination of palladium in catalysts,giving values of recovery in the range of 91.0%-104.0%.
