Abstract
Anodic adsorptive voltammetry was applied to the determination of moxifloxacin hydrochloride (MF). In a B-R buffer solution of pH 6.55, the adsorptive voltammetric behavior of MF at the carbon paste electrode was studied after open-circuit accumulation for 120 s, a sensitive oxidation peak was observed at 0.987 V (vs.SCE). Linear relationship between values of oxidation peak current and concentration of MF was kept in the range of 5.6×10-7-1.0×10-5mol·L-1. Detection limit (3s/k) found for the method was 4.3×10-8mol·L-1. The proposed method was used in the determination of MF in its tablets, giving results in consistency with the labelled value, with values of RSD′s (n=6) 3.8%. Recovery was tested by addition of standards to urine sample of healthy person, and the result of average recovery found was 101.6%.
