    Resolution of Enantiomers of Chlorphenesin by HPLC with Mobile Phase Added with Chiral Additive

    • Hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HP-β-CD) was used as a chiral additive in the resolution of enantiomers of chlorphenesin by HPLC.The ODS Hypersil column (4.6 mm×200 mm,5 μm) was used as the stationary phase,and a mixture of CH3OH,acetonitrile and water (mixed in the ratio of 25∶25∶50 by vol.) containing 28.3 g·L-1 of HP-β-CD was used as mobile phase,with a flow-rate of 0.5 mL·min-1.UV-detection at the wavelength of 228 nm was adopted in the determination.The separation factor of this method attained to a value of 1.54.Values of RSD′s of retention time and of peak area of the enantiomers found in 5 repetitive determinations were 0.36%,0.11% and 0.83%,0.84% respectively.
