Abstract
A method for the determination of carbon and sulfur in high nickel corrosion resistant alloys by high frequency furnace combustion-IR spectrometry was proposed. The optimum experimental conditions were found as follow: ① amount of mixed flux of W and Sn: 0.6 g;② amount of sample: 0.5 g;③ analytical time for carbon: 35 s;④ analytical time for sulfur: 60 s. Tests for accuracy and precision were made with standard samples of IARM 67B,IARM 69C and IARM 60B,giving results in consistency with the standard values. Values of RSD′s (n=10) of carbon and sulfur found were less than 4% and 30%,respectively.
