    GC-MS Determination of Components of Volatile Oil in Folia Artemisiae Argyi

    • The sample of folia artemisiae argyi was extracted by steam distillation, components of the volatile essential oil were separated and identified by GC-MS, and their relative contents (in %) were found by the method of normalization. Totally 76 compounds were separated, among which 59 compounds were identified and determined, amounting to 94.3% of the total peak areas of the components of the volatile oil. The main compounds found with their relative contents were as follows: 1,8-cineole (22.19%), camphor (10.39%), viridiflorol (6.57%), artemisia alcohol (4.95%), L-borneol (4.88%), α-terpinolene (3.98%), artemisia ketone (3.44%), (z)-sabinene hydrate (3.36%), 4-terpineol (2.68%), chrysanthenone(2.51%), β-thujone (2.41%), 1-terpineol (2.32%)and eugenol (2.26%).
