Capillary Electrophoretic Chiral Separation of Amino Acids Based on the Combined Use of Vancomycin as Chiral Selector and Segmented Filling Technique

    • Separation of enantiomers of amino acids was studied by the capillary electrophoretic chiral separation system established on the base of combined use of segmented filling technique and vancomycin as chiral selector. The optimum separation conditions were selected as follows: ① a solution of 200 mmol·L-1 H3BO3 buffer of pH 7 containing 3 mmol·L-1 vancomycin and 2 mmol·L-1 HDB was placed in the separation segmented section with the H3BO3 solution of HDB as conveying solution; ② the length of segmented filling was kept under a pressure of 3.45 kPa through a time of 2.5 min. As shown by the experimental results, 15 pairs of the enantiometric amino acids among the 19 derivatives of amino acids tested were well separated.
