Abstract
In the photo-electric direct reading spectrometric determination of sulfur in pig iron, systematically low results were obtained as compared with the standard values of the re-calibration standard samples. It was found that by adjustment of the relative spectral intensity produced by sulfur in two recalibration standard samples with high and low sulfur contents, the systematic errors occurred were satisfactorily eliminated. In analyzing samples having sulfur contents around (wS) 0.020%,relative errors obtained were within ±0.002%.
