    ICP-AES Determination of Yttrium and 6 Impurity Elements in Zirconium-Yttrium Oxide Powder with High-temperature and High-pressure Digestion

    • The sample of zirconium-yttrium oxide powder was digested at high-temperature and high-pressure, then Y and 6 impurity elements ( Al, Fe, Na, Mg, Hf and Si) were determined using ICP-AES. Analytical spectral lines of 396.152, 238.204, 589.592, 279.553, 277.336, 288.158 and 371.029 nm were chosen for the determination of Al, Fe, Na, Mg, Hf, Si and Y, respectively. Linear ranges were within 75.0 mg·L-1 for Y, and within 30.0 mg·L-1 for the other 6 impurity elements, with detection limits (3s) in the range of 0.2-2 μg·g-1. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of zirconium-yttrium oxide powder, giving values of recovery and RSD′s (n=5) of 80.0%-120% and 3.1%-5.2%, respectively.
