Application of Extraction Resin and Chelating Resin to Separation of Metal Ions and Purification of Reagents

    • A summary of works of the authors on the application of extraction resin and chelating resin to separation of metal ions and purification of reagents was given. On the topic of extraction resin a brief on its preparation, selectivity and applications was narrated. As related to chelating resin, application of some important resins, i.e., the resins of chelex-100. Amberlite 743 (a special and selective resin for adsorption of boron(Ⅲ) in forms of BO3-3 or BF-4), LZ 85 (a special resin for adsorption of Co2+ ion and preparation of high-purity cobalt reagents), and 353E (a selective resin for adsorption of metal cyanide complexes, e.g., Au(CN)-4, Ag(CN)-2 etc.) was reviewed. In addition, the applications of anion exchange resin, i.e., Dowex 1-X8, to separations of anionic complexes of metal chlorides, e.g., [AuCl6]3-, [FeCl4]- etc., and of cation exchange resins to the preparation of high-purity uranium were also given.
