    FAAS Determination of Trace Amount of Lead in Titanium White

    • Sample of titanium white was dissolved in HF,and after evaporation to near dryness,the salts were taken up with HNO3(1+1) and diluted to a definite volume.Trace amount of lead in the sample solution was determined by FAAS with air-C2H2 flame and at the wavelength of 217.0 nm.Deuterium lamp background correction was applied to eliminate the interference of matrix-background absorption.Detection limit (3σ) found for the method was 0.03 mg·L-1.Recovery test was made at 4 different concentration levels,giving values of recovery in the range of 95.5%-107.5%.Test for precision was made with a sample containing 15.0 μg·g-1 of lead for 8 determinations,value of RSD found was 3.56%.
