Abstract
The tri-magnetic field-Zeeman effect background correction was applied to the GFAAS determination of aluminum in water sample. Linear relationship between values of absorbance and mass concentration of aluminum was kept in the range within 0.4 mg·L-1 with limit of detection of 0.04 μg. The proposed method was used in the determination of aluminum in a testing standard solution (NIL PT-0130), giving results in consistency with those obtained by ICP-MS. Precision of the method was tested at 3 concentration levels, giving results of RSD′s (n=6) in the range of 2.7%-4.3%.
