Determination of 4 Anions in Waste Water from Ore Dressing by Ion Chromatography

    • Contents of F-, Cl-, NO-3 and SO2-4 in waste water from ore dressing were determined by ion chromatography. The SH-AC-1 anion-exchange column was used for separation, and a mixture of solution of 2.5 mmol·L-1 Na2CO3 and 3.5 mmol·L-1 NaHCO3 was used as eluant. Inhibitory conductivity detection was adopted in the determination. Linearity ranges for F-, Cl-, NO-3 and SO2-4 were found in ranges of 0.01-4.0, 0.01-15.0, 0.01-15.0 and 0.01-30.0 mg·L-1, with detection limit (3S/N) of 6.13, 3.89, 5.86, 8.49 μg·L-1 respectively. The proposed method was applied to the determination of the anions in waste water samples, values of average recovery found by standard addition method were 97.5% (F-), 104.0% (Cl-), 102.0% (NO-3) and 98.3% (SO2-4), and RSD′s (n=11) found were all less than 4.0%.
