Abstract
Naturally endowed states of calcium, magnesium and phosphorus in phosphorite tailings sampled from Wengfu district of Guizhou province were studied and analyzed by chemical analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectrometry. It was found that: ① the phosphorite tailings sampled from the ore slag were solid minerals containing high magnesium (wMgO 17.26%-17.65%), high calcium (wCaO 34.11%-34.56%) and low phosphorus (wP2O5 5.30%-5.69%). ② Magnesium in the tailings was mainly present in form of dolomite with small amounts present as phosphate and silicate; calcium was also present mainly as dolomite with small amounts present as calcite and phosphate; phosphorus was present mainly as apatite with small amounts occurred in iron oxide, monazite and xenotime.
