    Spectroscopic Characteristics and Identification of Molecular Structure of Diosmin

    • Molecular structure of diosmin was identified by applying various spectroscopic methods. It was shown by the results of IRS and NMRS studies that the functional groups of alkanes, carbonyls, hydroxyls, 1,2,4 substituted benzenes, and ethers were found in the diosmin molecules. The above mentioned structures were identified by the results of MS studies with information of the presence of glucose radical; the structural formula of diosmin molecule, same as predicted was given. Main fragment peaks found in the mass spectra were shown to be in conformity with the rule of fragmentation of the diosmin molecule. On the basis of high resolution MS analysis, the relative molecular mass of diosmin was calculated and its empirical formula was given.
