Abstract
Electrocatalytic oxidation behavior of sulfite by acetylferrocene (AFRC) at glassy carbon electrode was studied by cyclic voltammetry. It was found that linear relationship between peak current (Ipa) of catalytic oxidation and concentration of SO2-3 was obtained in the range of 2.0×10-4-2.4×10-3mol·L-1,when the concentration of AFRC was kept at 6×10-5mol·L-1.Linear regression equation obtained was as follows: Ipa=4.962×10-3C-0.297 (r=0.999 7).The proposed method has been applied to the determination of sulfites in samples of boiler water, giving results checked quite well with the results of iodometric determination.Values of RSD (n=6) and recovery obtained were in the ranges of 0.3%-1.7% and 97.4%-118.2% respectively.
