    Determination of Formaldehyde in Textiles by Micro-flow Injection Automatic Rapid Analyzer

    • A self-made micro-flow injection automatic rapid HCHO-analyzer was used for the determination of formaldehyde in textiles. Formaldehyde in the sample solution was reacted with phloroglucinol, and the absorbance of this color system was measured. Linear relationship between values of absorbance and mass concentration of formaldehyde was obtained in the range within 20 mg·L-1, with detection limit (3s) of 4.0 mg·kg-1. The proposed method was applied to the determination of formaldehyde in samples of textile, values of recovery found by standard addition method were in the range of 91.0%-102% with RSD′s (n=7) in the range of 1.7%-4.9%.
