    Ion Chromatographic Determination of Nitrite and Nitrate in Fruits

    • An ion chromatographic method for the determination of nitrite and nitrateions in fruits was proposed.Nitrite and Nitrate in sample solution were separated on an anion separation column YSA-8 and eluted with a mobile phase consisted of 4 mmol·L-1 Na2CO3 and 3 mmol·L-1 NaHCO3.The eluate was detected with electroconductivity detector.DL of the method was 0.02 mg·L-1 for Nitrite and 0.11 mg·L-1 for Nitrate,respectively.Linearity of the calibration curve was ranged in 0.2-20.0 mg·L-1 for Nitrite and in 0.3-30.0 mg·L-1 for Nitrate,respectively.The proposed method was applied to the determination of Nitrite and Nitrate in fruit samples giving values of recovery in the range of 93.4%-105.2%.
