Abstract
In an acidic solution, mercury of different states present in water sample was oxidized to divalent state by potassium permanganate or bromate. The method,by hyphenation of flow-injection technique and hydride generation with thermo-atomic absorption spectrometry, was used for the determination of mercury in the sample solution.Linearity range of the method was found in the range of 0.2-15 μg·L-1 with correlation coefficient of 0.999 9,when measured at the wavelength of 253.7 nm.Detection limit (3σ) of the method was found to be 0.094 μg·L-1.Test for recovery was made by standard addition method on the base of substantial water sample, giving values of recovery in the range of 95.7% to 104.6%.
