Abstract
Theoratical α coefficient method was applied to the correction of matrix effect in XRFS analysis of manganese ores,making the results of both the major and minor componental elements,including Mn,Fe,MgO,Al2O3,SiO2,P,S,K2O,CaO,TiO2,NiO,Cu,Zn and BaO,obtained by this method,to be in conformity with the certified values of the CRM′s.Sample of manganese ore was fused with lithium tetraborate and the melt slice obtained was used in the XRFS analysis.It was found,in addition,that values of ignition losses obtained by direct ignition of manganese ores were different from and usually smaller than the values obtained by ignition of manganese ores together with lithium tetraborate.Based on this fact,determination of ignition loss by ignition of manganese ore together with lithium tetraborate was proposed.Value of standard deviation found in preparation of calibration curve for determination of manganese,was 0.08%,and value of RSD (n=11) found in determination of manganese in an ore sample was 0.19%.
