    ICP-AES Determination of 15 Metal Elements in Cation Exchange Resin

    • A method of ICP-AES for the determination of 15 metal elements in cation exchange resin was reported.The ashing temperature for sample treatment and working parameters of ICP-AES were optimized.The values of detection limits (3s) of 15 metal elements were in the range of 0.2-210.0 μg·L-1.The proposed method was applied to the analysis of new and used cation exchange resin from the primary water circulation system of the Xi′an Pulse Reactor,giving values of recovery in the range of 87.3%-102.2%.Based on the analytical results obtained,a comparative study was made between the differences of contents of the metal elements in new and used cation exchange resin samples,and a preliminary deduction on the source of these elements in water samples of primary water circulation system of the Xi′an Pulse Reactor was given.
