HG-AFS Determination of Tin in Canned Food with Microwave Assisted Sample Digestion

    • AFS was applied to the determination of Sn in canned food. The sample was digested with HNO3 and H2O2, and 20 g·L-1 KBH4 solution (dissolved in 5 g·L-1 KOH solution) was added to the sample solution as reductant. Flow-rates of 400 mL·min-1 for carrier gas and 900 mL·min-1 for shielding gas were taken in the analysis. Linear relationship between the fluorescence intensity and mass concentration of Sn found was in the range within 200 mg·L-1, with detection limit (3s) of 0.005 mg·kg-1. The proposed method was applied to the analysis of samples of canned food, giving values of recovery obtained by standard addition method in the range of 102%-108% and RSD′s (n=7) in the range of 1.4%-2.0%.
