    ICP-MS Determination of Platinum, Palladium and Rhodium in Vehicle-Use Catalyst with Microwave Assisted Sample Digestion

    • Sample of vehicle-use catalysts was digested with a mixture of 6 mL HCl, 3 mL HNO3, 1 mL HF and 4 mL H2O, and an aliquot of the sample solution was taken for ICP-MS determination of Pt, Pd and Rh. 195Pt, 105Pd and 103Rh were used as measuring elements. Values of detection limit (3σ) of Pt, Pd and Rh found were 0.003, 0.5, 0.002 μg·L-1 respectively. The proposed method was used in the analysis of 5 catalyst samples, the results obtained were in conformity with those obtained by 2 other labs. Values of recovery were found in the range of 85.5%-101%.
