FAAS Determination of 5 Metal Elements in a Traditional Chinese Medicine“Ba-yue-zha” with Microwave Assisted Sample Digestion

Sample of a traditional Chinese medicine,named in transliteration “Ba-yue-zha” was digested with conc.HNO3 in a PTFE digestion vessel heated in a microwave oven.The sample solution in dil.HNO3 was used for FAAS determination of Fe,Cu,Zn,Mn and Ca under prescribed working conditions of the instrument.Using a sample of “Ba-yue-zha” as matrix,tests for precision and recovery were made,giving values of RSD′s (n=5) in the range of 0.47%-2.19% and values of recovery in the range of 90.0%-102.6%.
