FAAS Determination of Metal Elements in Printed Circuit Board Scraps

Seven metal elements,i.e.,Cu,Pb,Zn,Ni,Sn,Au and Ag,in printed circuit board (PCB) scraps were determined by FAAS. The sample was dissolved in HCl-HNO3-H2O(3+1+4) mixed acid and diluted to a definite volume with HCl(5+95) in a volumetric flask. The 7 elements mentioned above were determined under the working conditions of the instrument as described. Values of RSD (n=6) for the element Cu determined in 4 samples of the PCB scraps,were found in the range of 0.79%-1.03%,and the contents of Cu in these 4 samples found by the proposed method were checked with the iodometric titration method.
