Abstract
Trace amounts of germanium in water were completely precipitated and enriched by phenyl fluorone (PF) in a medium of pH 2.0,then determined by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry. Tungsten coated graphite tube was used in the determination. Lanthanum salt was added as matrix modifier to eliminate matrix interference. The precipitant, phenyl fluorone showed a sensitization effect on the determination. Accuracy of the method has been verified with the analysis of standard reference materials, giving values of detection limit (S/N=3) 0.3 μg·L-1,recovery in the range of 95.2%-103.0%,and RSD′s less than 5%.
